A Tear

 A TEAR MAY DROP

A tear may drop from my eyes and land on my thighs

In a moment of exhaustion i may let out a sigh

Overwhelmed but yet my head remains high

stress of it all levitate me like  wings when I try

That’s how i remained determined to fly

My goals must reach past the sky

Aim farther each time I fall the faster i climb

Carrying new tools the weight heavier each time

Thanking God for all the blessings in line

The ones i have received motivates my mind

Faith is the strength that helps my body survive

My heart beat is an alarm for my soul to remind

That there’s a purpose i was given life

So even if i hit snooze i know after neutral is drive

I can never park or go backwards to thrive

I can only slow down or shift forward to incline

I was put here for a reason I won’t stop til I know why

KEEPING HER SCORE

kEEPING HER SCORE

Normal in her relation is quickly sinking ship,

She’s Starring into the mirror wiping another bloody lip,

Wondering if this is honestly the last time she will be hit,

How many more times will she have to call in sick?

Every man that she’s ever chosen turned out to be an abusive pick,

He says that he loves her and showers her with gifts,

All these material things to justify his every hit,

The ring on her finger says that she must stay,

The kids don’t deserve her family broken away,

Her mother took the abuse so she’s thinking she should do the same,

Besides, she provoked him. It’s only right she wears the blame,

One day it will get better, for her He will change,

she’ll just buy extra makeup to conceal all of his shame,

Her friends don’t understand they’re just judging him by all her pain,

They only see his flaws but are never there after the rain,

Yes the ball is heavy but the lost girl inside her loves wearing his chains,
